Souvenir shops abound in Maldives, and you can easily recognise them with
shocking pink and orange colors painted on them. Souvenir can range from

magnets and mats. Remember that almost all of these carry no price stickers
and the price you get depends on the way you negotiate it. Wooded carved

in Maldives. The range is huge including items like wathces, chocolates,
perfumes, electronics, clathing and accessories and all well-reputed global
brands. You can shop in duty free outlets at the Departure Terminal of Male
International Airport. Duty Free fashion boutiques would offer array of
sleek leather items, seaters, jackets, trousers, sports wear, socks and
cotton, polyester and silk shirts. You can get fanciful luxury items for
your darling and she would surely plant a kiss on your face for that. When
it comes to sunglasses, loads of variety is available in Maldives.
Shopping in Mahe
Of course Mahe is not a shopping paradise. Yet the Maldives capital has
some interesting things to offer. Canned fish and local handicrafts are two
most sought-after items in Mahe. Chandhanee Magu and majeedhee Magu are two
more popular shopping places in Male.
Alert
Maldives Government has banned export of products made of turtle shell,
black coral, pearl oyster shell and red coral. So, don't deal in these
items.
